    Pharmacies with the Project Pharmacy “Thumbs Up” list pharmacists who responded to the survey that EC was in stock at the time of the call or the pharmacy normally stocks EC, but were either out or had stopped stocking due to a lack of demand. Note: All Iowa Planned Parenthood clinics and Emma Goldman clinic in Iowa City were not included in the Project Pharmacy study but are included in the directory since they regularly stock and dispense EC.

  Pharmacies with Unknown Policies are pharmacies that were not surveyed due to store hours, bad phone numbers or a pharmacist declined to answer the survey questions.

    Pharmacies with the Project Pharmacy “Thumbs Down” list pharmacists who responded to the survey that they would not carry EC due to moral or religious beliefs.

*The pharmacies listed in the Pharmacy Directory were either successfully contacted or at least two attempts were made in an attempt to conduct the Project Pharmacy survey and research to determine access and availability of emergency contraception (EC) in Iowa pharmacies.
